Ruudu jagamine on üks eksperiment ja ühtlasi minu meelest praktiline näide, mis asi on loovus ja mis mitte niiivõrd. See on "loovusülesande" kujul, mida peetakse raskeks. Kes näitab selles üles rohket tulemuslikkust, seda peetakse loovaks. Ja ometigi mida tegelikult tavaliselt küll lahendatakse minu meelest viisil, mis ei ole tegelikult loovusega seotud, kuigi nii arvatakse. 

Samas selle ülesandega ja samade reeglitega saab õnnekombel lisaks teha tegelikult hulga veel huvitavamaid asju. 

Minu sooviks on neile huvitavmatele asjadele tähelepanu juhtida. Ning sellele, mis moodi need kvalitatiivselt erinevad tavalistest lahendustest, olgu neid või leitud arvamuse järgi "looval kombel" mitmeid. Ning juhtida ka tähelepanu, et kui ülesande tegelikult "tavalisi" lahendusi teadlikult intellektiga leida, on neid lihtsam leida. Seega jäävad loovusele vabad käed teha lõpuks seda, mis on tema "sepa liistud", ning mida tõesti loovaks pidada võib.

 

Täpsemalt ma ei saa siin korraga ära seletada, see võtab veidi aega ja parem on interaktiivselt läbi viia. Ma ise alles õpin selle juures iga kord midagi uut, erinevaid inimesi jälgides, ja loodan pakkuda huvitavat mõtteainet ka sellele, kes ülesannet lahendab.

Hey there!

To be honest, there is something I would like to share with You. Something I have been thinking about sharing with You.

I could say that once when I stumbled on it (it was quite long time ago) I wondered whether it is related to getting to the edge of reason and then beyond. At the time I was quite excited about the topic. But it was quite some years ago for now. I really haven't had much opportunity and time to play around with that experiment lately anymore, but during the years I have shown this puzzle to some people and friends. Perhaps at least one of them seems to have found something important from it.

The larger part of the idea is just an idea of what might be possible. Perhaps just an unreachable ideal you perhaps just can sometimes get a glimpse of. Or maybe someone masters that wider theme better too, who knows? I would like to discuss this broader topic sometime in the future! But there is a more accessible version that I devised somewhat earlier than the broader idea.

So it is a kind of puzzle, that is also a kind of journey.

Originally the puzzle was invented by someone else and meant to be a creativity-brainteaser. It was supposed to be hard. Like so when someone solves it productively - finds a few different answers, then this person allegedly should be a kind of genius or something like that :)

But I kind of modified the rules a bit. It may sound a bit arrogant, but I do not think the original puzzle actually has much to do with creativity! Instead, it has to do with something else. Somehow people initially mix these things up! Not at all that I think I am that so very creative person to judge others. But I can show You that the original puzzle is actually terribly easy. When You start seeing it. And fortunately it is also just that I happen to have stumbled upon something quite different, just got a glimpse of it. So I modified the rules. In some sense the rules have not changed at all.

I just would like to hint You to something entirely else that can be done with this puzzle, something much truly interesting than is usually done. And I claim - much more truly creative. I am sure You can see it Yourself.

This puzzle is also a kind of metaphor, for other things in life.

I do not know the answers. But I have some kind of compass, just for the start. But later it turns into more like a shared exploration and then I certainly start to learn from You, not the way around anymore :) I can show You the door, but You are the one who can walk through it.

I cannot explain everything here. Also I do not have a fixed protocol for conducting this experiment. Every time I conduct it I learn something new from the other people, who try to "solve" the puzzle, I learn something new from observing their thoughts or creations. Because I myself am searching for something. But I also hope to offer some interesting material and guidance for those audacious treasure hunters.
